In the last 2 days, the weather mirrored the mood of the base. It was cloudy and rained on random throughout each day. It was because of the silence. The silence that laced around the duo. ___ and Scout.

Nothing had happened after the incident. Everything seemed to go by as normal in the banal fort, but as soon as the two were mentioned together, everybody quickly changed the topic. If one of the two were in a room, and the other walked in, a noticeable change in the atmosphere was felt. ___ would not acknowledge Scout's presence and he would lower his head at hers.

It drove the team mad.

They all knew both of them were too stubborn for their own good to work it out. "Young foolish love" Spy described it.

Perhaps it was.
***-***
Scout didn't know what to do.

Honestly. All his life there were two options: Fight or flight.
And now, he was dumbstruck. He leaned against a box of crates in the empty warehouse. It was Scout's favorite spot because, there, nobody was able to bother him. The spot gave him a perfect chance to
miserably daydream.

Every time he tried to think about an upcoming battle or what pranks he could pull off, his thoughts wondered back to HER face. And when the image came across his mind, Scout groaned and tried to shake it off. He couldn't. He couldn't remove the face she made two days ago. It was marked with agony and pure tiredness.

And he caused it.

But it wasn't like it was his fault for being mad! She failed the team two times! Scout once again groaned and shook the thought. Somewhere inside his self-centered mind, he knew he was wrong. The other men of the team had their turns in scolding him. It started first of course, with Engineer. The Texan man was distraught finding out ___ locked herself in his dinky little room. Engineer with murderous conviction wanted to bash the poor fool in the head, but Sniper came in to save the day before ,he, as well, threatened Scout to do something lest Engineer finished the job. But how was it that ___ didn't
give the silent treatment to them, but to him especially?

'I guess I did take it too far...' The lanky young adult lightly cupped his left cheek where she hit him.

Scout sighed and clenched the hand. Sooner or later this ordeal would have to end. Damn this woman. Always making him do the impossible. What was she doing to him?
***-***
___ calmly penned her thoughts upon the paper. At the moment she resided in the teams' lounge room.
It was an old and boring room with nothing but two circular desks, a couch, and a coffee machine.

Dear ma, Yeah I got your letter. Thanks for those...dresses.

She paused and grimaced slightly. A little white lie wouldn't hurt.

Anyhow Ma, I'm doing fine as usual. The pay is of course better than working at that flower shop. And I am totally not in a relationship, Mom. That's so gross! All the men here are too worried about their jobs than doing anything-'.

"Aye, yo daisies"

Her pen stopped moving mid-sentence at the voice. Only one person used that nickname. It was the first time he'd call her out after that day. ___ resumed her writing without paying heed
to his call.

"___" This time he used her first name.

He was like thin air to her now. Scout rolled back his shoulders and exhaled deep, preparing for a blow that could possibly break all his bones. If this is how she was going to be, then fine. Cautiously, he moved towards her and grabbed her by the shoulders. "___!!!" He yelled. Of course, she did not expect for him to talk to her, nor even touch her!

For a moment ___'s eyes held a look of bewilderment at Scout's dead serious face. He looked agitated that he even was biting a corner of his lip. She pushed herself away and writhed in his grip but it was futile. If she did get away, where would she go? He blocked the exit and there happened to be no convenient windows to jump out of.

"Ugh! Let me go, Scout!!!" She yelled, "What the hell do ya' want!?"

Scout expected her to resist because she was never one to back down. She kicked, screamed, and bit at him.

"H-Hey!" It was all he had to say in this process of being beaten in. But before a flying fist came to meet his jaw, Scout roughly threw the girl onto the couch.

WHUMPH!

"What the-!?" ___ squeaked.

Disheveled beyond words, Scout placed his knee in between her thighs and pinned her wrists above her head to prevent an escape.

"Listen to me, will ya'!?"

"W-what, n-no, Scout, get-!"

"If you're still mad at me about what happened the other day, than I'm sorry! There!" Embarrassed, he looked away from her face.  His grip on her wrist did not move, but only clenched harder.

"I'm sorry..." He said again, "I just got mad and overreacted, I guess, and so...." Scout trailed off in his mumbling.

"It's fine"

"What?"

"It's fine" ___ repeated. She felt she had to say things twice constantly for others to hear. Like him, she turned to look away from Scout's surprised face," I messed up and got what I deserved."

Silence.

"But I made ya' cry, right? You didn't deserve that." A stern look came upon Scout's face when he cut the moment of silence.

"Scout, I failed the team, twice! Twice! Don't butter me up with words," ___ grumbled and began to wriggle once more from underneath Scout, "And those were not tears! I-I had somethin' in my eye, was all." To her, it was humiliating to be pitied.  ___  sighed heavily.

Something soft. Something soft had touched her lips. She knew damn well what was happening... because, frankly, it was not the first time he had done this.

Scout was kissing her.

"Mmmmph!" ___ hands heaved against his chest clumsily. What surprised her the most was the
expression he held. Scout looked flustered, but all the while kept his gaze on her. As if he was clear on his actions.

"Actions speak louder than words?" It sounded like a question rather than a statement. He mumbled another apology before moving himself off of her. So be it if she was mad at him. As long as he said what he had to say, then there was no other reason to stay any longer. His pride relied on it.

'Ohohohoo no you're not' Kiss her and then leave? Pent up irritation emanated from her. ___yanked
Scout's shirt towards back to his previous position.

SLAP!

"That was for that stupid move! Asshole!" ___ hands flew up to her face. He sort of expected it.

She was ... embarrassed?  No...no....___'s shoulders shook lightly. Laughing?!

In truth, ___ was not entirely too mad at him. It amused her to no ends that Scout uncharacteristically apologized to her, more so that to even seal the deal, to kiss her as well! The feeling of depression had long ago gone away.

"Are ya' laughin'?" Scout was appalled at this point. One moment she was ready to beat him to a pulp and the next moment ___ turned into a giggling school girl. What the hell?
She removed her hands from her face and smirked. Would it kill to pull his strings further? His reactions were so priceless.

"You know, Scout... it looks like you're trying to come onto me" ___ raised an eyebrow in anticipation. Scout frowned before his eyes shot open in realization.

"Uh...uh...uhm uhm uhm uh..." Scout's mind tried to process the position he was in with her and what it look like to others who may pass by.

"H-hey!!! Scout!!!" ___yelled violently pushing him off her smaller body. Scout jerked back in surprise as he still hovered over her. Her face was at first taken aback in some type of surprise and then it contorted.

Breaking the silence, suddenly sputters of air escaped her lips.
___ looked away and accusingly pointed a finger,"Y-y-you're having a nosebleed!!" She let out an obnoxious and childish laughter.
It took Scout a full three seconds to absorb her words. He touched his face; his nose indeed was bleeding.

"S-shit! The blood rushed too fast to my head" he muttered quietly. He wiped away the red liquid with his forearm. Of course he would be so embarrassed right now! Especially when he was facing ___ right now.

'Fuck this is not cool!'

He could already feel his face heat even more. It didn't help that she was giggling like an idiot. In attempt to hide his embarrassment, he shifted his weight onto his knees while he continued wiping the remaining blood off his face.

"Quit laughing at me, ___" Scout growled. Her fit did not falter.

"BUT YOUR N-NOSE IS BLEEDIN' HAHAHAA!!!"

Scout sneered and removed himself off the bed. His pride was way too torn right now to listen to her brash laughter. He'll live it down somehow.

"Hey!" ___ called. She yanked his arm back. Scout jerked backwards from the intended destination. ___ tried her best to stifle the laughter and once more tugged on his arm while tilting her head, "It'll be a secret, I promise"

Scout couldn't remember how many she kept for him.
***-***
"Why are ze two fighting again?" Medic groaned. The German man sighed and pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose.
"Ah, the same ole', same ole', Doc." Engineer yawned and shook his head patting the taller man on his shoulder. He lazily strolled by towards the mess hall for breakfast, "It's not like you've neva' heard them quarreling with each other, come on let's get some chow". He waved the doctor over. Medic frowned and turned to accompany his friend, "But I swore I heard ___ yell about nosebleeds. Hmm."

Engineer chuckled lightly ahead of him.
And so it is finally here! I'm sorry for the slight OOCness of Scout and Reader-tan's somewhat bipolar attitude. ;-;
But I'm done with :iconpankakecarnivor: little request! I hope you enjoyed C:
A cookie goes to the person who guesses the nosebleed reference.
